The Barton Performing Arts Department would like to invite high school seniors with an interest in dance, instrumental music, theatre and vocal music to apply and audition for 2021-2022 Performance Awards, Major Scholarships and performance ensembles via virtual auditions from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 10. Students can register at auditions.bartonccc.edu and registration for future dates will be opened closer to each respective date.
Potential students will have an opportunity to gear up for the fall semester during Barton’s popular “Enrollment Day” sessions, which start on April 20 and will continue throughout the summer. Students can call (620) 792-9286 or visit enroll.bartonccc.edu to sign up or for more information. Registration opens on April 1. Students can apply for admission before coming to campus by visiting apply.bartonccc.edu

The Barton Community College Foundation aims to enhance the Barton student experience with its 11th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot fundraiser from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Sunday, April 18 at Camp Aldrich, 884 NE 110 Ave. in Claflin. The money raised is used for mini-grants for Barton faculty members to purchase items for their classrooms to enhance student learning experiences. The foundation has awarded about $100,000 in mini-grants to date.

Barton Community College will present a Vocal Masterclass featuring Wichita State University Professor Alan Held at 10 a.m. March 26 via zoom. The event is free and open to the public.

Barton Community College will help area high school juniors plan for their futures at Junior Day, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 14. There are 150 spots available and those interested can sign up at juniorday.bartonccc.edu. through April 5. Safety measures will be followed and masks will be required.

Barton Community College is hosting the first round of in-person auditions for its dance company, Barton Dance Theatre, and dance scholarship awards, from 10 a.m.-12 noon, March 27 in Studio 34, located in the Sunflower housing units on Barton’s campus.
