The Barton Community College Foundation presents scholarships each year from funds received through its fundraising events.
Barton Online provides you the opportunity to complete an Associate Degree online or a variety of Certificate Programs. Courses taken at other colleges and universities, plus any military and/or work experience, may be applied towards degree completion requirements at Barton. A minimum of 15 credit hours are required from Barton for degree completion. No matter what educational and career goals you have, Barton can help you to achieve them.

The Shafer Art Gallery staff hosted a fun-filled afternoon for the Kansas State Department of Education Teacher of the Year nominees last Tuesday in the Gallery consisting of a personalized tour and an art project activity.
The drought monitor report as of Tuesday, January 10 no change as we are still in the grips of extreme drought. Again, there is little hope for any change in conditions in the short or even long term.
Barton's Academic Development Center supports all students of Barton Community College as they develop the skills needed to find success in the classroom. In the ADC, an academic coach can help students learn about the expectations of a college course, develop study skills and time management skills, and/or connect with campus resources. The Center is also open daily for student study space, and regularly hosts student seminars on topics like note taking, academic planning, and developing study groups.
The Shafer Art Gallery will unveil its next exhibit “Figure/Ground” by Kevin Kelly with a reception at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 20 in the Gallery, which will feature a short artist talk, comments by the director and light refreshments. The exhibit runs through Feb. 25 and admission is free.
Barton Community College dropped off a donation of food at the Community Food Bank of Barton County Friday. The items were collected by the Barton Library from faculty, staff and students at Barton at the end of the fall semester.
The Barton Community College Library will team up with the English department and Barton’s literary annual “Prairie Ink” staff to host a “Getting Started Writer’s Workshop” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 26 in the Cavanaugh Ballroom, in the Barton Library.
Barton Community College will be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 16. Barton's Center for Adult Education and the Shafer Art Gallery also will be closed. Offices will reopen and classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
New business owners or those wanting to start a business can learn about key components of running a business from area experts on a variety of topics at Barton’s “On Your Mark, Get Set, Grow Your Business” seminar from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday evenings from Feb. 9 to March 30 at the Front Door Community Center.
