The Barton Music Department will treat the community to the breathtaking piano playing of Chiara D’Odorico at 7:30 p.m. April 21 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Admission is free.
She will be presenting a program of Paraguayan classical music and will be joined by Argentinian pianist David Lonardi for some four-hand numbers. D’Odorico is from Paraguay and has played all over the world with numerous groups including the world-famous Orquesta Sinfonica de la Ciudad de Asuncion. She has performed in Brazil, Colombia, U.S., Italy, France, The Vatican, Spain, Austria, Russia, South Africa, Lebanon, and India. Some of the most distinguished venues include The Kennedy Center, Palácio Foz, Salón Dorado del Teatro Colón, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, National Gallery of Canada, Palazzo Capizucchi, and Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya.
D'Odorico has two albums that have been released: “Purahéi che retãgua” (nominated for the 2020 Gardel Awards for Best Classical Music Album) and “Ofrenda a mi tierra” with the aim of disseminating Paraguayan academic music. She will have CDs for purchase after the concert.
