Barton Community College’s seventh-annual Wounded Warrior Golf Scramble, which benefits wounded soldiers from Fort Riley, is set for Saturday, Sept. 12. Registration deadline is Aug. 29, 2015.

The Wounded Warrior Scramble is an opportunity to not only support our soldiers, but thank them for their dedicated service and sacrifice for our country.

Shotgun start is set for 10 a.m. at the Custer Hill Golf Course at Fort Riley. Standard four-man golf scramble rules apply.

Preparing for the 2016 Wheat Crop - Part I

The year in the title isn’t a typo.  Even though it is only August 2nd, good producers are making their decisions for the 2016 wheat crop.  Even though planting is more than a month away, many producers are already facing potential challenges, especially for those planning to plant wheat after summer crops.

Barton Community College has seen steady growth for seven years. The institution as a whole drew more than 4,300 full-time-equivalent (FTE) students in 2014-15, which is a 1.04 percent increase over last year, and a 47 percent increase since the growth trend began in 2007-08, according to the FTE data gathered at the close of the spring semester.  Note: Figures subject to slight changes until data “freeze” date in August. This information is a reflection of the current outlook.

Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kan. has named 226 students to the President’s List for the spring 2015 semester.  To qualify for this honor, students must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained a grade point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 or "A" letter scale.
