Barton has created new class types in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that students can have an uninterrupted educational experience regardless of the status of the pandemic. Barton is now offering the following formats:

Barton Community College has announced its 2019-20 Brant J. Ballhorst Student Ambassador of the Year awards. Named in memory of Brant J. Ballhorst, the award recognizes two outstanding Student Ambassadors each year. The winners this year were Karsyn Smith of West Plains, Mo. and Joanna Lockwood of Hoisington.

Barton Dance Theatre is offering a “Dancing for Mobility” class for adults looking to improve balance, strength, and body awareness while also learning a wide range of dance styles from the safety of their home. The six-week class meets from 1:30-2:40 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays starting Monday, May 11.

Students from area high schools submitted artwork digitally to Barton Community College to participate in a virtual version of the “Vortex Day” juried art exhibit Wednesday, which is sponsored by the Barton County Arts Council (BCAC) and is underwritten by the Bill J. McKown Endowment/Golden Belt Foundation.
