The Barton Community College Library will team up with the English department and Barton’s literary annual “Prairie Ink” staff to host a “Writer’s Workshop” from 6–7:30 p.m. March 26 in the Cavanaugh Room of the Learning Resource Center and via Zoom at https://bartonccc-edu.zoom.us/j/2440236758.

Barton’s offices will be closed March 19 and 20 for spring break. The College’s regular class schedule and business hours will resume March 23.

For Barton Community College alumna Karisa Cowan, a career in education has always felt like a calling.

Barton Community College HOSA Future Health Professionals students competed recently in Wichita at the largest Kansas HOSA State Leadership Conference (SLC) to date.

Potential students will have an opportunity to gear up for the fall semester during Barton’s popular “Enrollment Day” sessions, which start on April 14 and will continue throughout the summer.

U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran visited Barton Community College on March 5 to announce congressionally directed federal funding of $425,000, which will support the purchase of equipment for the college’s Agriculture and Transportation Complex’s technical education programs.

Five members of Barton Community College’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter earned top honors at the Kansas FBLA State Leadership Conference and Competition held at Emporia State University Feb. 28.

High school seniors interested in auditioning for vocal ensembles or instrumental ensembles and learning about scholarship opportunities in music for the 2026–2027 season are encouraged to sign up for one of Barton’s “Music Scholarship Days” on March 7 or April 18 or contact music faculty to schedule an appointment audition on a different date.
