The drought monitor report as of Tuesday, May 20th shows a little progress with Severe drought at less than 2% and we are up to 19% totally out of dry conditions (mostly Southeast Kansas into the Northeast. 

The drought monitor report as of Tuesday, May 13th shows a little progress with Severe drought at less than 2% and we are up to 18% totally out of dry conditions (mostly Southeast Kansas and a sliver of the Northwest. 

The English for Speakers of Other Languages program prepares students to communicate in English to improve skills to further their academic studies. The goal is to provide students with the opportunity to attain fluency in English.  Classes focus on academic instruction to include vocabulary, conversation, sentence structure and reading, test-taking skills, listening, speaking, and writing.

Barton Community College has announced Emma Hickel of Claflin and Allyson McDougal of Moore, Oklahoma as its 2024-25 Brant J. Ballhorst Student Ambassadors of the Year.
