Barton music students to present recital Oct. 24

The first Barton Community College Student Recital of the school year will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, October 24 in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel, located in the Fine Arts Building, F-157.  The recital is free and open to the public.

Barton Voice Instructor Glenna Gaunt works with Barton’s vocal students of varied backgrounds and styles of literature including opera arias, classical art song and musical theatre selections.  Barton vocalists are Brianna Bushell of Andover, Alicia Silva of Lyons, Caden Donnenwerth of Pratt, Kejlt Phillips of Hoisington and Terri Horner, a nontraditional student from Great Bend.  High school students include Dayton Long from St. John and Hayden Honomichl of Great Bend. Special guest high school student singers will be Andrew Maier from Central Plains High School and Haley Troyer and Caden Rowen from Ellinwood High School.

Keyboard Instructor Karole Erikson works with piano and organ students. Her performing students will be Jeremy Birmingham of Tulsa, Okla., Jennifer Pfortmiller of Hudson, August Siefkes from Great Bend High School and McKenna Cape of Great Bend. Also performing from this group will be Robert Feldt, a nontraditional student from Great Bend, on the violin. 

Director of Instrumental Studies Dr. Luis Palacios works with instrumentalists. His performing students will be Robert Brining of Great Bend on saxophone and Maggie Krout of Arkansas City on clarinet.
