Those wanting to help save lives and be a part of a vital industry can apply for Barton’s Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) programs now through July 31.

Barton Director of Emergency Medical Services Education (EMS) Program Nicholas Larmer said EMTs and AEMTs are in high demand and urges those interested to apply.

“EMS is a great medical field to get into in a short amount of time,” he said. “At Barton Community College, we train students to become competent, compassionate caregivers. We prepare them, at an entry-level, for the types of emergencies they might encounter.  Our passion for EMS becomes the passion of the students. EMS not only saves lives; it changes them.”

Barton's program qualifies for the Kansas Promise Scholarship, which means students can complete it at no cost. For more information about this, visit bartonccc.edu/promiseact.
