Paintings, photographs, and sculptures by area artists will be on display when the Shafer Gallery hosts the opening reception for the annual Friends and Acquaintances Community Art Exhibit, which will feature a special collection by Mary Kottmann, from 4-6 p.m. Sept. 12.
Barton Community College’s Early Childhood Education Program will host a free family event, “Wheels and Squeals,” from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 20 in the Case New Holland Parking Lot and Building, which is located at the northeast corner of the college’s campus.
Barton Community College invites the public to participate in a series of free computer and digital literacy classes offered throughout September, including three new trainings focusing on cloud storage, iPhone, and keyboarding basics.
"Dancing with the Cougars" returns this year with another dance workshop featuring Latin dance styles at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 12 in Studio 34, and all proceeds go to support Barton Dance Theatre's trip to dance in New York City in January.
Barton Community College and the Center for Adult Education will be closed, and there will be no classes in observance of Labor Day on Sept. 1. Offices will reopen, and classes will resume on Sept. 2.
Barton Community College’s 17th annual Wounded Warrior Golf Scramble, which benefits wounded soldiers from Fort Riley, is set for Sept. 20.
