The Physical Education curriculum prepares you to teach elementary, junior high/middle school, and high school Physical Education. Many students interested in Physical Education also complete a curriculum leading to secondary coaching, although an endorsement to coach are available.
Barton Community College's Physical Education curriculum is designed to provide the general education requirement and core Physical Education courses for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor's degree in Physical Education. In addition to general education courses like Personal and Community Health, we offer electives including Intro to Health, PE and Recreation, Psychology of Sport, and Basic Nutrition. Electives must meet the requirements of your transferring institution. Students should coordinate with their advisor for transfer requirements.
