Barton will host its ninth annual Career Technical Education Fair for students grades 8-12 to learn about different career options on Friday, Feb. 2, and it will feature demonstrations, hands-on activities, refreshments, and prizes.
The high school students’ sessions are from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and the eighth-grade students’ sessions are from noon-2:30 p.m.
Those attending will register for a specific “track” of programs they’re interested in, and tour guides will help students move from one session to the next. Both the morning and afternoon sessions will conclude with a “college life” panel where students can hear from current students about their Barton experience.
Director of Early College Opportunities Karly Little said it’s helpful for students to learn about a variety of jobs so they can be career minded as they go through their educational journey and that it helps to revisit those options from year to year up through graduation.
“By getting a glimpse into these exciting career fields, we hope these hands-on sessions can help students feel a spark of interest in something they might not have known was even possible for them,” she said.”
Registration is required. Further details and registration are available at careerfair.bartonccc.edu.
