Barton Theatre Auditions - Curtains Musical

Tuesday, December 5, 2017 - 4:00pm to Wednesday, December 6, 2017 - 8:00pm

The Barton Music and Theatre Departments are excited to announce the spring 2018 musical, “Curtains,” a mystery comedy with music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb who wrote music for the highly acclaimed shows “Cabaret” and “Chicago.” Auditions are open to everyone and the show is set for March 9-11. See below for audition materials.

Any female who is interested in any main role should rehearse the song “Show People” labeled “Female lead” even though the character who sings it is Carmen. Any male interested in any male role should rehearse the song “Coffee Shop Nights” labeled “male lead” regardless if they wish to audition for the role of Cioffi. People may also be asked to sing a portion of “What Kind of Man” if we need to hear more. Anyone who is interested in a chorus (ensemble) role should be prepared to sing “What Kind of Man.”

Everyone will be asked to demonstrate their vocal range, read a cutting from the script, and learn a simple, short dance step.

December 5 and 6, 4-8 p.m.
December 10, 2-4 p.m
Fine Arts Auditorium, Barton County Campus
