Barton Community College invites the public to a free weather awareness event, "Why is Kansas Weather So Different?" on Feb. 28 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Science & Math Building, Room S-118.
The event features presentations from Chief Meteorologist at KWCH Channel 12 Ross Janssen and Vanessa Pearce of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The speakers will provide expert insights into the relationship between Kansas geography and severe weather patterns, as well as the practical impacts of weather on the local community.
