This Friday, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Central Kansas and Volunteers in Action will host a Veterans Appreciation Concert at 7 p.m. on November 10 at the Great Bend City Auditorium, 1214 Stone St.

Area veterans, active service men and women along with the public are invited to attend this free concert held in honor of the men and women who serve and have served our country. Featured music performances include the Great Bend High School Jazz Band, Barton's Director of Instrumental Music Steven Lueth, Barton Community College Hilltop Singers and Norma Titsworth. The Golden Plains Quilts of Valor will be featured at the event as well.

RSVP is sponsored by Barton Community College and a partner agency of United Way. The program works to help keep seniors active in the community through volunteering and connecting volunteers with local agencies.
