Barton MLT student earns Outstanding Student award

Barton Medical Laboratory Technician student Amber Gabel of Hays was named Outstanding Student on April 28 by the Kansas Society of Clinical Laboratory Science (KSCLS) at the KSCLS and Clinical Laboratory Managers Association (CLMA) annual conference. Gabel also received a $250 scholarship from CLMA. Requirements focused on GPA, credit hours enrolled, communication, instructor recommendations and teamwork.

“I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for receiving both a scholarship from CLMA and the award for Outstanding Student from KSCLS that will aid me immensely in my educational journey,” Gabel said. “This recognition is a great honor and motivates me to continue to excel throughout the process of becoming a Medical Laboratory Technician.  I would also like to give the warmest ‘thank you’ to my instructors Cheryl Lippert and Dana Weber for their dedication toward the success of myself and the other students enrolled in the MLT program.”
