Barton Theatre holding open auditions for fall productions

The Barton Community College Theatre Department will hold open auditions by appointment only for its fall production of “Charley’s Aunt” by Brandon Thomas and the One-Act Festival “What You Say When You Say It,” from 5-9 p.m., Aug. 19-21 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. All roles and technical positions will be cast. No preparation is necessary, and all are invited to audition. The One-Act Festival will be put on by the production class. Those auditioning must contact Theatre Director Miller James at millerj@bartonccc.ed or (620) 792-9205 to set up an appointment.

Rehearsals for “Charley’s Aunt” will begin Aug. 25 and run from 6-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The production will have four runs at the following dates and times and will be live-streamed: 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 and 2 p.m. Oct. 4. The play is a comedy that focuses on one wild afternoon of mistaken identity, young love, old love, angry uncles and one beautiful, exotic aunt.

Rehearsal dates and times for the One-Act Festival will be announced at a later date and the production will be live-streamed at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15.  The festival is a collection of six one-act plays.
