The Shafer Gallery will host a reception celebrating the 40-year career of teacher and master watercolorist Steve Dudek Aug. 5 at 6:30.

Shafer Gallery Director Dave Barnes said the featured pieces have been in safe keeping at the Strecker Nelson West Gallery in Manhattan and have not been seen in our area.

“We have been given a wonderful opportunity to share a series of Steve’s dynamic koi pond paintings,” he said. “We are going to gather together and provide a forum for Steve’s colleagues and friends to reminisce and comment on his art and impact on the Kansas art scene. We will provide refreshments and a lot of good company and conversation”

Follow the Shafer Gallery at facebook/shafer gallery. The Shafer Gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is always free. For more information, contact Barnes at or (620) 792-9342.
