Children aged three to twelve years who love fairytales will enjoy this camp full of creative magic led by the Barton Dance Theatre students from 2-5 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Fine Arts Building. Tickets are $10 per child and $5 per each additional sibling and are available at shows.bartonccc.edu. Registration is due by Feb. 9 and space is limited.

Fine and Performing Arts Coordinator and Dance Instructor Danika Bielek said she designed the fundraiser as a way for kids to enjoy being active while at the same time connecting her dancers with the community in a positive way. Kids will learn dances, have an acting class, do some tumbling, create a craft and more! All proceeds go to help fund the Barton Dance Theatre's trip to attend and represent Barton at the American College Dance Association Conference this spring.

“We have offered the Creative Camp for five years now and every year it’s so rewarding to see how inspired the kids are when they leave with the artwork they’ve made.” she said. “We know they’ve built memories that will last. It’s also an excellent opportunity for our dance students to explore teaching children, which is helpful for their educational experience as they decide what direction they want to take their careers. Plus, parents can get a little break from the kids!”
