Barton Community College to honor graduates in 52nd commencement

Barton Community College’s 52nd commencement is set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 13, in the Barton Gymnasium. The ceremony will also be live streamed via facebook.com/bartoncommunitycollege.

After brief comments from Barton President Dr. Carl Heilman, Vice President of Student Services Angie Maddy will present the 2022 Outstanding Graduate awards to Tom Gehring and Jaycee Patton.

Vice President of Instruction Elaine Simmons will then present five Distinguished Instructor Awards to Barton Instructors Latoya Hill representing Barton Online, adjunct faculty member Karey Marshall, Janet Balk of the Fort Riley Campus, Colvin Hooser of the Fort Leavenworth Campus and Andrea Jenkins of the Barton County Campus.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mike Johnson and Simmons will confer the degrees. Developmental Education Instructor Abby Howe will present the graduates as Dr. Heilman extends the college’s official congratulations on behalf of the Board of Trustees.

Pastor Mark Williams of Solid World Ministries in Great Bend is set to lead both the invocation and benediction.
