Barton Music Department to host Prairie Winds Concert

Barton Community College’s Prairie Winds Concert Band and Jazz Band, featuring members of the community, will present their annual fall concert titled “It Is Christmas,” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

Featured groups will be the Prairie Winds Concert Band and the Prairie Winds Jazz Band.  The bands will present traditional Christmas selections such as “A Child Is Born,” “Big Noise from the North Pole,” “Still, Still, Still” and “C’est Noel.” The concert will also feature marches by Karl King and Pierre Leemans. Overtures include “Selections from the Wizard of Oz,” “Prairie Dances,” and “Joy in All Things.”   Barton Director of Instrumental Activities Steven Lueth will direct the concert.  The concert is free and open to the public.
