The Liberal Studies curriculum is designed to prepare students to transfer to a four-year institution. A student can earn an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science. A student pursuing an Associate of Arts degree has more emphasis in humanities, fine/performing arts, and the social sciences. A student pursuing an Associate of Science degree has more emphasis in mathematics, natural/life sciences, and physical sciences.
Our degree is available in-person or completely online, and classes are offered in 4,6,8,12, and 16 week sessions via Barton Online.

Barton Community College's history curriculum is designed to provide the general education requirement and core history courses for students who plan to transfer to a four year college or university to complete a bachelor's degree in history. In addition to general education courses in American History, we offer a variety of electives including Western Civilizations, Kansas History and Military histories. Electives must meet the requirements of your transferring institution. Students should coordinate with their advisor for transfer requirements.
