Barton Community College has announced its 2023-24 Brant J. Ballhorst Student Ambassadors of the Year. Named in memory of Brant J. Ballhorst, the award recognizes two outstanding Student Ambassadors each year. The winners this year were Wyatt Trombley of Dodge City and Bradley Beck of Great Bend.
Six students from Barton Community College in the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society were recognized as members of the PTK All-State Academic team during an award luncheon on April 12 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Junction City.
Generous gift from Mull family enhances Barton Community College's fine arts and agriculture program
The Keith and Marian Mull family were long-time supporters and donors of Barton Community College and the Barton Foundation, with gifts dating back 30 years, and a recent gift of significance made in memory of the Mulls is being used to help two very different but essential areas of the College.
Barton Community College’s 54th commencement is set for 7 p.m. May 10 in the Barton Gymnasium. The ceremony will also be live-streamed via the Barton Facebook and YouTube pages.
When Barton Community College launched the Open Educational Resources (OER) initiative in 2018, the goal was to offer a full degree using the OER framework; that goal will become a reality this fall with the availability of the Low-Cost Degree Pathway.

Barton’s Dance Department will host the “Moving in the Heartland” Dance Festival at 7 p.m. April 26 and 27 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. General admission tickets are five dollars at the door. Children and Barton students get in for free.
