The Barton Community College Foundation presented the 2024 Distinguished Service Award to Jim and Kathi Armatys Friday during the annual commencement ceremony, both of whom are esteemed community members whose unwavering dedication has significantly enriched the missions of Barton and the Foundation.
Evelin Valadez of Stafford and Hayley Wise of Silver Lake were named Barton Community College’s 2024 Outstanding Graduates. Vice President of Student Services Angie Maddy recognized them as part of Barton’s commencement on Friday.
Five Barton instructors earned the Distinguished Instructor Award (DIA) for the 2023-2024 academic year for their outstanding efforts in the classroom and were recognized at Barton’s commencement ceremony Friday evening in the Barton Gymnasium.
Barton Community College has announced its 2023-24 Brant J. Ballhorst Student Ambassadors of the Year. Named in memory of Brant J. Ballhorst, the award recognizes two outstanding Student Ambassadors each year. The winners this year were Wyatt Trombley of Dodge City and Bradley Beck of Great Bend.
Six students from Barton Community College in the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society were recognized as members of the PTK All-State Academic team during an award luncheon on April 12 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Junction City.
The Keith and Marian Mull family were long-time supporters and donors of Barton Community College and the Barton Foundation, with gifts dating back 30 years, and a recent gift of significance made in memory of the Mulls is being used to help two very different but essential areas of the College.
