Barton music students to present recital

Barton Community College will present a student recital of instrumental and vocal performances at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel, located in the Fine Arts Building, F-157.  The recital is free.

The recital will involve students of Keyboard Instructor Karole Erikson, Director of Instrumental Studies Steve Lueth and Voice Instructor Glenna Gaunt. Barton music students are an eclectic group made up of traditional college students, area high school students enrolled for college credit and area adults studying for their own enjoyment. This recital will include music from musicals “Annie Get Your Gun” and “Heathers” as well as music by Chopin and Scarlatti.

The recital will also feature vocal performances from the following Barton Music students: Katherine Snapp, Allison Muth and Michael Raymer of Great Bend; Kolton Landreth and Paul Claassen of Wichita; Paige Crocker of Olathe; Madison Sauer of Ellinwood.

The recital will feature keyboard performances from the following Barton Music students: Tom Bauer and Ana Prieto of Great Bend on piano; Jennifer Pfortmiller of Great Bend on organ, with piano duet by her organ instructor, Karole Erikson; Steven Cortez of Ellinwood on piano.

The recital will feature instrumental performances from the following Barton Music students: Steven Cortez of Ellinwood on trombone; Kira Bunn of Great Bend on trombone; Rebecca Harmison of Dighton on flute; Michael Raymer of Great Bend on alto saxophone; Anahi Prieto of Great Bend on alto saxophone.
