Public invited to Jack Kilby Science Day keynote: NASA’s Raphael Grau

For the first time, the public is invited to attend the keynote speech for the 12th annual Jack Kilby Science Day at 9 a.m. October 15 in the Fine Arts Building at Barton Community College.

Raphael Grau, Acting Manager of External Integration for the International Space Station Program, has agreed to serve as keynote.

Mr. Grau will speak to students about space technologies and the benefits of space exploration. He will address the importance of the human space flight program in its current state, how to participate in the future, and the journey to Mars.

Seating will be first-come-first-served. Priority will be given to visitors from local high schools.

About Jack Kilby Science Day

Following the keynote, high school participants will be offered the opportunity to meet and visit with each other and to learn during the day's expanded and updated activities. Students will choose from several fascinating hands-on mini-sessions, demonstrations, competitions, and experiments that they are sure to find enjoyable, exciting and educational in various areas of science and technology.
