The political science emphasis prepares students to research and to think analytically and critically. Students will be given a broad overview of historical events while analyzing politics and practices from the state level to an international perspective. From the history of our nation to philosophical study, political science students are given a holistic educational perspective to support further study.

Students Preparing to Transfer

Barton Community College's political science curriculum is designed to provide the general education requirement and core political science courses for students who plan to transfer to a four year college or university to complete a bachelor's degree in political science. Electives must meet the requirements of your transferring institution. Students should coordinate with their advisor for transferability.
